Obituary of Edgar J. Nelson

On April 24, 1959, God graced us with Edgar Joseph Nelson he was born to Joseph Nelson and Jean Devoe. He was raised in Gary, IN and graduated from West Side High School in 1979. Nelson but many called him (Ed) was avid Fisherman. If you knew him then you knew he loved his family, fishing and working hard. He was a Leader and no matter where he worked, he always became the “Boss”. Nelson found love when he met his wife, Debra. They were together for 34 years and married for 27 of them. When he married Debra, he gained a daughter and later 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren that we loved Unconditionally. There was absolutely nothing he would do for his family or friends. He is proceeded in death with his (Father) Joe and (Mother) Jean, (Brothers) Lorenzo Nelson Sr, and Brian Nelson (Sister) Muriel Wilcher. He leaves his loving (Wife) Debra Nelson, (Daughter) LaShawn (Courtney) Brown, (3 Grandchildren) Jakari, Destiny and Eternity Cole (6 Great Grandchildren) Kaden, Carsyn, JaKhye, Makayla, Malayah, Jeremy Jr. (Brothers) Leslie Nelson, Charles Reed, (Sisters) Sandy (Harold) Frank, Cynthia Antosik, Deborah (Bernad) Brown, Renata (Terrance) Hill, Regina Carlton, Pam Carlton, (Special Nephew) Chris Wilcher, (Special Friends) Mark Hunter, Ray Frank and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, family and friends.
