Obituary of Joseph E. Robinson

Joseph E. Robinson was born July 14, 1935, in Indianapolis, IN at General Hospital to Theodore and Fanny Robinson. Joseph was the fourth oldest child out of seven children born from this union. Joseph attended elementary school in Indianapolis, as well as Crispus Attucks High School for three years, where he the went on to serve in the United States Army. While in the Army, Joseph was in the United States Infantry, where he would serve for two years. While in the Army Joseph was ranked a private and was honorably discharged in August of 1957. Joseph would a few years later marry Marjorie Robinson. They were married for twelve years within that union, they would have two sons, Jeffrey W Robinson Sr. and Sherwin Robinson. Joseph within his lifetime would go on to work at a few different jobs. The Welder Fabricator at Reese for two years. Working seven years at Co-op Farm Bureau, where they worked on machines, tractors and Silos. Joseph also worked at L. S. Ayres for a while and fifteen years at various custodial jobs. Joseph in his part-time liked fishing and playing gin rummy. He loves all sports but his top three were basketball, football and soccer. Listening to music was another great pastime he loved. He would listen to different genres of music, but Jazz was his favorite. Joseph also loved spending time with family and friends. Gathering with those he loved. Eating, laughing, especially talking and making those lasting memories. Joseph departed from us on April 17, 2023, at the age of eighty-seven at Ascension St. Vincent’s Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Fanny. His sisters, Katherine and Gussy, brothers, Ted, Charles, Paul and Alvin, and his grandson, Shiloh Robinson. He leaves to cherish his loving memories with his two sons and their wives; Jeffrey and Liz Robinson Sr. and Sherwin and Donna Robinson; grandchildren, Tiffany, Jeffrey Jr. Arlonzo, DeWayne, DeShawn, DeAndre, Shaquille, Nyjah and Jordan; great grandchildren, Nalaya, Levin, Adrian, Adrianna, Royalty, Malaya, De’Nysha, Jordan and Ariez, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
