Obituary of Doris Ann Schuman

Doris Ann Schuman, 93, of Carmel, IN passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 while in hospice care at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in Allentown, PA to Ira and Mildred Graver. She graduated from Fountain Hill High School in Bethlehem, PA in 1946 and Jefferson Medical College Hospital in Philadelphia, PA in 1949. She worked as a registered nurse for many years. After retiring she did volunteer work for Riley’s Children Hospital and the Indiana School for the Blind. Doris Loved cooking, gardening, reading, calligraphy and most of all traveling with her beloved husband Jack. Her favorite travel destination was Lake Como, Italy. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Jack Schuman; parents; brother Ira; sons Eric and David Schuman. Those left to cherish her memory are sons Ira Schuman and Robert Schuman; grandson James; granddaughter Laura; daughters-in-law Karen and Barbara and the wonderful staff at the Barrington of Carmel.
