Obituary of Robert Antoni Williams

He was the son of Robert James Mitchell, who preceded him in death and Yvonne Williams, who married Leon Williams. Leon immediately adopted Robert and loved him as his own. Robert attended St. Rita’s, then Indianapolis Public School #69 and Arsenal Technical High School where he graduated from in 1983. Robert accepted Christ at an early age, later joining the Good Samaritan Baptist Church under Pastor VT Traylor, who considered Robert his little brother. Robert was united in Holy Matrimony to Trish Burns and to that union one daughter, Lyjah Williams was born. Robert was one of the best auto detailers in Indianapolis and was privileged enough to share his talents with many dealerships in the city. He took so much pride in his work when he finished your car it would look brand new. Robert was a people magnet, he loved life and had an engaging spirit. To know him was to love him for he lived in non-judgement and acceptance of all. On February 18, 2021, Mr. Robert Williams departed this earthly life at the age of fifty-six years old. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Williams; sisters, Kim Williams and Debra Williams; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He will be greatly missed by his mother, Yvonne Williams; daughter, Lyjah Williams; brothers, Leon Williams and Michael Williams; sister, Leslie Hughley; his special niece, Kennedy Phillips; and his special friend for years, Willa Lawson. Robert’s favorite saying was “Welcome to the real world.”
