CKAYE (my brother),
We have shared a lot of good times as well as bad. Through it all we have remained friends. You always knew what to say. Always had the best advice even if was painful to hear. I am forever thankful and count it a privilege to be able to experience the gift of music with you. You will be missed dearly. Your heart will not hurt anymore more my friend, rest in peace.

Chris was one of the first friends I met when I moved to Washington township in 6th grade. He was always a safe and sound presence as we navigated through highschool graduation. Chris always had a song to sing or a beat to make. He always was a friend to everyone and just a good guy. I have always been proud of Chris path and journey through his ministry of music and love for his family. May his wife and family have the peace and understanding during this time. Christopher Kelly will never be forgotten.

Chris started out as my older brother’s (Kenny) friend, but they would often let me tag along when we just little kids. When we got older though Chris and I developed our own friendship through music. I remember working with one of his groups, Blackmale, having so much fun and learning so much. Chris was a big guy with a big voice and a big heart who will be missed in a big way. Rest in heavenly peace, my friend.

My last memory was when you arrived in VA..We were all down at the homplace where our parents grew up..We were all just enjoying the land..The fresh grass and the freedom of just walking and talking..It was a hot day, but we managed to stay out there absorbing the energy of the land ,and wondering what it must have been like for our mother's to grow up there. Nichole and I picked wild daisies and put them in our hair.. while photo bombing each other. While you George and Ross talked about the stories your mother had told you about living down there. Everybody had so much fun that day and you said you were glad you came. Until we all meet again Rest peacefully.

Where do I begin? I have known Chris since I was a teen. In our early adulthood, I remember running into him from time to time and he would tell me about his music accomplishments. Back then, "Lately" was out. I also knew he was working with Levert amongst other things. We both knew back then what each other were up to musically and we would share and congratulate each other whenever we crossed paths. So, that's 30+ years of me knowing this good human.
Later in life, I started recording again and we reconnected musically. Once I began working with Chris, it was a wrap for me recording with anyone else. That was in 2010 and we've been rocking musically ever since. Everything I recorded from that time on, Chris was involved in some capacity. What a warm spirit he had and what a stand up guy! To know Chris is to love him. He was incredibly talented, patient, kind, and professional. I will truly miss him.
It was evident how much he loved his wife and family. It wasn't always; but when he spoke of them, it was with so much care and love. I'm certain my grief is merely a fraction of those much closer to him. I want to extend my sincere condolences to his wife, daughter, father, family, music family, and friends. I wish I had the right words to encourage you and give you peace in the midst of your pain. I pray that God will comfort and keep you!
Sincerely,
~K. Huggs

Chris was one of cousin and he will be missed deeply. Chris could always say something to make you laugh you could always feel Chris presence whenever he walked in. Great family man who loved his family so very much especially Collin and Christian.Chris was an inspiration to me but I never got to tell him that. Just his drive and passion for music motivated me to chase my dreams. My condolences to Alesha and Christian.
