Obituary of Robert Severe Williams Jr.

Robert Severe Williams Jr 67, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 15, 2017. Robert was born in Indianapolis to the late Robert S. Williams Sr. and Susie Anna (Givand) Williams, on December 20, 1949. He was married to first wife Karen S. (McCann) Anderson in 1970-1973. In 1974, he was united in marriage to Kyung A. (Yong) Williams in Korea. He attended Wayne Township schools, graduated from Ben Davis H.S. in 1968 and attended Indiana Central College. Robert was an extraordinary athlete that set records and won many awards. A few of Robert’s accomplishments were climbing Mount Fuji in 1978, playing professional football in Korea, and he was acknowledged in the Ben Davis Athletic Hall of Fame. After completing his Military service, he worked for Metro Transportation, assisted with disaster clean up including Hurricane Katrina and worked for EEOC until his passing. Robert accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour as an adult. He was a member of Olivet Missionary Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents. Robert is survived by his wife, Anna Williams; his loving children, Royce N. Williams Lewis, Tina K. Williams, Michael D. Williams and Quiana Dotson Williams; grandchildren, Darryl A. Lewis Jr., Darrah A. Lewis, Naytasia E. Williams, Trey W. Genus, A’Morie Dotson; sisters, Gloria J. (William deceased) Jones and Deborah A. Williams; nephews, Tracy A. Jackson, Curtis L. Williams and Christopher E. Todd; niece, Santoria S. Bates; five great- grandchildren, Anaiya N. Lewis, Andrece B. Hyche, Malorie J. Lewis, Royce D. Lewis and Darell K. Lewis; a very close cousin, Larry E. Williams and many other relatives and friends. Robert was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and brother. He loved spending quality time with his family, whom he so dearly loved.
