Obituary of Gloria Marie Kelley

Gloria "Lucky Charm" Kelley, 66, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on September 2, 2016. Gloria was born on June 6, 1950 in Kankakee, IL to George and Ruby Barnes. Gloria worked for Saint Margret Franciscan Hospital in Hammond, IN for 42 years as a Renal Dialysis Tech.; during this time, lifetime moments were made; especially on the Acute Team and 7 East Floor. At an early age Gloria first committed to Christ at the Second Baptist Church in Kankakee and then recommitted at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Gary. Gloria was married to Ronald Kelley from June 7, 1969 - 1986. She has always drawn people to her with her illuminating smile. She knew no strangers. Her hobbies included fishing, bowling, and pool playing, she loved to travel as long as there was an open road and water we were there. She loved to watch her game shows; Let's Make a Deal, The Price is Right and plenty of cooking shows. When it came to entertainment, she was the greatest at it. She cherished and loved her family. She was well respected and loved in her Gary, IN neighborhood on Buchanan St. for over 40 years. She lived by the "Love Thy Neighbor" commandment. That same rule of living overflowed and followed her here in Indianapolis, IN; her neighbor Mike (The dorritos meatloaf) admired Gloria and assisted her with whatever task she needed done. All neighbors where were from live under "The Village" rules; we were raised as family rather than co-habitants of a community. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents. Gloria is survived by her daughters, Ronda and Ruby Kelley; adopted daughter, LaTriece Anderson; sisters, Joyce (James) Mills, Annette (Michael) Dunnigan; brothers, Allen (Cynthia) Barnes, Eddie Barnes; granddaughter, Brielle Buggs; (special) sister in law, Viola Kelley-Harris; (special) friends, Robert (Bob) Miles, Joyce Owens; (special) co-workers, Mary, Carol, Shirley and Sheila Turner. She also leaves to cherish her memory, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and the many children she grand mothered.
