Obituary of Clarence Huckleberry

Clarence Huckleberry, Sr. began his life September 15, 1934 in Schlater, Mississippi (small town of Greenwood, MS). Clarence was one of three children born to the late John and Sarah Huckleberry. He transitioned from this life on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Harcourt Terrace Facility, Indianapolis, Indiana. Clarence Sr. was educated in the Indianapolis Public School System and was a graduate of Crispus Attucks High School, class of 1952. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge in April 1964 as an Airman First Class. From his union with Mattie J. McDaniel, came two children, Clarence Jr. and Kimberly. On August 30, 1970, Clarence Sr. married the late Louise White. Clarence Sr. accepted Christ and was a member of Emmanuel CME Church. Clarence Sr. worked at Bryant Heating and Manufacturing Company (now called United Technologies Corporation Building & Industrial Systems) for over a decade. After leaving its employment, Clarence Sr. became an entrepreneur, conducting his own personal business, diversifying himself. Clarence Sr. was a member of the Indiana Prince Hall Grand Lodge where he held many offices and received several awards for his dedicated service. Clarence Sr. was also an active member of the American Legion. Clarence Sr. was preceded in death by his parents and many family members. Clarence Huckleberry, Sr. leaves to cherish memories, his sister Catherine Robinson; children, Clarence Jr. (Tonia) Huckleberry, Kimberly A. Hughley, Shaunte Moore, and Jeffery Clarence Huckleberry; nieces, Shirley (Lesley) Thomas and Janet (Lee) Sanford; grandchildren, Keisha (Justin) Beavers, Clarence III (Felicia) Huckleberry, Ryan Hughley, Samara Huckleberry, Richard Hughley, Christian Huckleberry, Bernard Johnson, Daniel Island, Tyler Huckleberry and Cameron Huckleberry; twenty-one great-grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends.
